What Will I Study?

Students will study:

Paper 1: Thematic Study and Historic Environment (1H10/10)

• Medicine in Britain, c1250-present and The British sector on the Western Front, 1914-18: injuries, treatment and the trenches.

Paper 2: Period Study and British Depth Study (1H10/B4&26/7)

• Early Elizabethan England, 1558-88
• Superpower Relations and the Cold War 1941-91

Paper 3: Modern Depth (1H10/31)

• Weimar and Nazi Germany 1918-1939

 

What Skills Will I Develop?

Writing
Research 
Analysis, evaluation and ability to use sources to make substantiated judgements

 

How Will I Be Assessed?

There will be three examinations:

Paper 1 and Paper 3 will be a choice of questions with a mixture of knowledge based and source-based questions.

Paper 1 & Paper 3 will be 1 hour and 20 minutes each and account for 30% each.

Paper 2 – will be a choice of knowledge driven questions and enquiry based.

Paper 2 will be for 1 hour and 45 minutes and will account for 40% of the total marks
