Ski Trip 2026

A team of intrepid students (from Y8 upwards as well as a band of hardy Sixth Formers) spent the first week of Easter enjoying the delights of Zell am See, Austria. Flying out from Gatwick, we were in resort within 11 hours door-to-door and the sun shone brightly – an omen for a great week ahead! The hotel surpassed all expectations and offered not only terrific food and comfortable rooms: it boasted an array of extra-curricular activity and sports! With two beach volleyball courts, sports halls, a bowling alley, cinema, pizzeria, trampolining, climbing walls and more the students might have had an excellent week based purely on what they could do inside.
But, of course, a Ski Trip is all about the mountains. We were blessed with wonderful and plentiful snow for a spring skiing trip and the views across Lake Zell were awe-inspiring and life-affirming.
The ski instructors were the best we have experienced in 15 ski trips and student progress in the sport was incredible – students who at the start of the week had never been on snow before were meeting the challenge of black runs (the most difficult) by the end of the week.
A real highlight was that everyone progressed so well that we all got up on to the Kaprun Glacier for the last day – with heights of 3000m plus, this was truly brilliant.

We presented all students with a medal for their efforts and a “Top Skier” award to each of the four groups. The ultimate “Skier of the Week” (based upon factors like determination, progress, team-work, good humour) was Y12’s Harry.
While Harry’s name was “up in lights”, it could almost have been any one of the students who was up there receiving such accolades.
All students were a delight – and thanks go to parents for all their support in the smooth-running of another successful trip.
Thanks also to Mr Bains and Mr Schofield for accompanying the students and being part of a really great team.

Details for our 2027 Ski Trip will be available soon.
