NLS Celebrates Back-to-Back Warwickshire Top Spot

North Leamington School has once again been recognised as one of the highest-performing schools in the country, with newly released provisional national performance data confirming another exceptional year of GCSE outcomes.
For the second consecutive year, North Leamington School has been ranked the highest-performing non-selective school in Warwickshire, achieving an outstanding Attainment 8 score of 56.9, significantly above the national average of 46.2.
The school's success extends far beyond the county. The latest data places North Leamington School:
- 1st among all non-selective schools in Warwickshire and 4th in the West Midlands region
- Within the top 10% of all schools in England (3,456 state-funded schools nationally)
Headteacher Mike Lowdell said: "We are absolutely delighted to see the achievements of our students recognised once again in the national performance data. To be ranked as the highest-performing non-selective school in Warwickshire for a second consecutive year is a remarkable accomplishment and one that reflects the hard work, determination and ambition of our young people. These results are the product of a genuine partnership between students, staff and families. Our students should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved, and I would like to congratulate every member of staff who has contributed to their success, as well as the parents and carers who support our young people every day."
North Leamington School's success is built upon a broad and ambitious curriculum that enables students to excel across a wide range of academic, creative and vocational subjects. Students benefit from expert teaching, high expectations and a carefully sequenced curriculum that develops knowledge and skills progressively over time. Alongside academic achievement, the school continues to provide an extensive range of enrichment opportunities including music, drama, sport, Duke of Edinburgh's Award, student leadership, educational visits and international experiences. These opportunities help students develop confidence, character and the wider skills required for future success.
Mr Lowdell continued:
"What makes these outcomes particularly pleasing is that they have been achieved whilst maintaining a genuinely broad educational experience. We firmly believe that excellent examination results and outstanding personal development go hand in hand. Our staff are passionate about ensuring every student is challenged, supported and inspired to achieve their very best. These outcomes demonstrate the impact of that commitment over time and reinforce our position as one of the leading comprehensive schools in the region."
The school also paid tribute to the resilience and commitment shown by the Year 11 cohort throughout their GCSE studies.
"These young people embraced every opportunity available to them and demonstrated exceptional dedication throughout their time at North Leamington School. They leave us equipped not only with excellent qualifications but also with the confidence, skills and aspirations to succeed in the next stage of their education and beyond.
We are immensely proud of them and look forward to following their future successes."
As North Leamington School continues to build on its strong reputation for academic excellence, the latest results represent another milestone in the school's commitment to delivering the highest quality education for all students.
