The Sixth Form results at North Leamington School have again been outstanding…

Among the perfect overall pass rate, a huge 65% of all A-level results were at A*-B grades!

Mike Lowdell (Headteacher) said: “For another year, such terrific results puts the school in the very top percentiles for performance nationally. We are so proud of all our students: not only in their academic achievements but also how they have developed as determined, well-rounded and caring individuals”.

We had great success in BTEC subjects too: in Health & Social Care as well as Music. Of particular note is that 100% of the grades allocated were at either Distinction or Distinction* - the equivalent of A or A* respectively.

We are delighted that, while most have always targeted university as their next step destination or Future Pathway, students have also been successful in securing prestigious and highly competitive degree apprenticeships. Elsewhere, a number are planning gap years which for some will involve undertaking volunteering opportunities.

95% of those who did target university have achieved their preferred university choice. The degree courses students will be following include a wide range, such as: maths, mechanical engineering, politics, psychology, law, geography, PPE, medicine and veterinary science.

A range of organisations and geographical locations is also represented: while Vincent is off to Oxford to study Engineering and Adam will be at Cambridge for Maths, one student will be down in Bath while another will be up in Aberdeen. Meanwhile, some will stay closer to home: Keeley will be at Warwick and Jaydon will be in Coventry.

Steve Taylor (Head of Sixth Form) commented: “All of this testifies to a rich and diverse student community where individuals are really successful in pursuing their goals.  Irrespective of where they are headed and what they have achieved, all these students will be much-missed. We wish them every success in the future!”
