Rewards

Reward and recognition is at the heart of what we do at North Leamington School. We have 5 levels of reward points:

There are 5 levels of rewards for students at North Leamington School.

All rewards can be seen by students and parents/carers on G4S

R1s are rewarded for day-to-day positives where we are reinforcing expected behaviour.

R2s are rewarded for students who demonstrate behaviour that is above and beyond.

R3s are rewarded for outstanding sustained contributions both in the classroom and outside of the classroom.

R4s recognise exceptional contribution to school life and are rewarded by Year Leads, Faculty Leads and SLT.

An R5 is the Head Teacher Award.

Students can achieve an R1-5 Commitment, R1-5 Opportunity, R1 -5 Respect and R1-5 Excellence, to reward and reinforce positive behaviours that link to our CORE values.

There are also specific rewards for our whole-school priorities of literacy and attendance.

Extrinsic/Intrinsic Rewards

Each year, we see our five colleges compete for the rewards trophy. The students are provided with a weekly update as to their college’s position in school. This is driven through the tutor groups, which are college based.

Each term, the top 50 students in each year group are invited to termly rewards event. Students are sent a postcard and parents receive communications. In previous years, the three events were:

  • Autumn – Cinema event
  • Spring – Pizza event
  • Summer – Inflatable event

All year groups have a bespoke range of vouchers and events on offer, based on their total reward points, attendance and work ethic, which are reviewed throughout the academic year via student, staff and parent voice.

We hold a termly celebration assemblies where we celebrate students’ successes at the end of each data drop. The different areas of recognition are:

  • Attitude Towards Learning
  • Achievement
  • Attainment
  • Reward Points
  • Tutor Contribution
  • Year Commendation

Student Leaders

Our Year 8 Reward Leaders drive our rewards in school. They help with all aspects of rewards at school, from supporting events to designing the reward system. Each year, we see our five colleges compete for the Rewards trophy. The students are provided with a weekly update as to their college’s position in school. Our 2023 - 24 Rewards and College Events

Christmas 2023 Cinema Event

Students are rewarded with R1-R5s for a range of positive behaviours in lessons and as part of the wider school community. To recognise some of those students who are such a positive member of our school community, on Thursday 7 December, the top 50 in each year group were invited to a festive cinema afternoon in the main theatre, to watch the Christmas classic, Elf, whilst enjoying some popcorn.

Our 2022 - 23 Rewards Events and College Points

Summer 2022-23

On Thursday 13 July, 50 students, who achieved the highest number of reward points over this term, in the year group were invited to the Summer Rewards Celebration Event to recognise their positive contributions to lessons and the wider school community. We hired a range of inflatables and the Year 9s had a lot of fun during their celebration. A massive well done to those students invited.

Spring 2022-2023

At the end of this term, we had our Spring Celebration Event where the top 50 students in each year were invited for a celebration event to acknowledge their positive impact on our school community. Students received postcard invitations to the event, where they were able to enjoy Dominos and some time with friends P5 on Friday 24 March. This was a brilliant way to reward our young people.

Christmas 2022 – 2023

On Tuesday 6th December the Top 50 students in Year 9 were invited to attend a cinema event to recognise their excellent attitude in lessons and Tutor Time. It was fantastic to celebrate these students and a good time was had by all!
